5 Tips to Beginning Gardening Early

Monday, March 31st, 2008

By Tom Tubergen If you live in a cooler climate like the northern half of the United States then youre probably itching every spring to get out and plant your garden. Even if you live where the weather turns warmer earlier in the year, you probably still wish you had a way of starting your garden just a few weeks sooner. Well, now you can. Here are 5 tips that will get you started on that garden before the weather outside turns warm. These tips all involve beginning your plants inside. Follow these instructions and youll not only have a garden earlier but youll also have healthier plants. Tip #1: Give the Gifts of Life. Dont forget to provide your plants with plenty of water, sunlight, and good soil. These are the three things all plants need whether they are inside or out. So be sure to provide what your seedlings and young plants need most: water, sunlight, and good soil. Tip #2: Let There be Light. Your seedlings will need lots of light to grow and be thick and healthy. Not enough light will result in thin, wispy plants. Even if you think the seedlings get plenty of natural sunlight, remember that seedlings require a great deal of light about 14 hours a day. Dont be afraid to use artificial light and when you do, use bulbs that are made just for growing plants. Also, fluorescent lights are best because they dont generate so much heat that your seedlings will dry out. Place the lights about a foot above the plants. Tip #3: Keep it Clean. Dont make the mistake of using a soil that has fungi known as Damping-Off Disease in it. This disease is particularly disastrous to plants grown inside. Be sure to place your seedlings in a soil that has been sterilized. When you buy the package of soil, it should be clearly labeled that the soil has been sterilized. If not, dont buy it or use it. Tip #4: Dont be all Wet. Its very important not to let the soil become too soggy or too dry. You need to keep a close eye on the soil and water it when necessary but you dont want to over-water it. Often its best to water your plants from the bottom. That way you allow the soil to soak up the water like a sponge. Its also a good idea to cover the soil with plastic wrap. This will allow the soil to stay warm and moist. Just make sure you remove the wrap when the seedlings sprout or youll suffocate the new plants. Tip #5: Timing is Everything. Its important that you dont plant the seedlings too soon. If the plants outgrow the pots or flats theyre in then they wont survive for long. Your goal should be to transplant the young plants just as theyre old enough to survive the process. That would be about four to six weeks after first planting the seeds. Its a good idea to get your garden started early by planting seeds indoors first. To do that effectively you need to plant the seeds at the correct time. Then you need to keep the plant in good soil and provide it with the proper light and water. Crafts & Hobbies: How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

By Rondi Davis The song says it all, “Hot Fun in the Summertime. Our summer was certainly full of fun: outdoor barbeques, neighborhood cookouts, making ice cream, 4th of July parades, a trip to grandpas house, sleeping late, moving my oldest daughter into her first apartment It never seems like the season is long enough to do everything we want to do. Now that the summer is almost over, how do we preserve these memories? Take a few minutes before the busy routine of school begins to put together a family album of summer keepsakes. Whether its in a scrapbook, photo album, or shoebox, these mementoes chronicle tidbits of family life that often become lasting traditions. Your kids will love showing friends and family how they spent their summer vacation. Want a quick and easy way to make a time capsule of your summer vacation? Make a keepsake jar. Find a large, clean, wide mouth jar (mayonnaise jars work well) to hold your treasures. Paint and decorate the lid. Gather together pictures, ticket stubs, sea shells, maps, souvenirs, pressed flowers or anything that has sentimental value from you summer vacation. Write names and dates on the back of photographs. Place all of your items inside the jar. On brightly colored paper, write a few notes about each event. You may want to interview other family members for their thoughts as well. Preserve your summer stories in a place of honor. Kids will enjoy getting their keepsake jar down to tell stories for many summers to come. And, dont forget to snap a picture on the first day of school. We take a photograph in the same spot every year. My daughter is leaving for her first year of college. In the opening pages of her scrapbook are all of the pictures we had taken on the first day of school. From the scared preschooler with the little lamb name tag, to the confident, beautiful young woman she blossomed into, each picture was truly worth a thousand words. Why People Who Use Manipulative Seduction Have A Hard Time Attracting Love

Friday, March 28th, 2008

By Christine Akiteng Seduction comes in many forms, from the predatory manipulations that leave the other person feeling not so good about being seduced to the “reciprocal pleasure” that leaves both parties feeling elated as if they have done the “right thing,” perhaps even inspired the reward of bliss and ecstasy. You know you are being seduced by a predatory or are being seduced by an empty person when their “seduction” clearly has an expected outcome or goal - self-gratification. ‘Empty” people are those people who don’t have a happy life and are always on the prowl, looking for prey, someone they can manipulate and take advantage of. The need to use another person either for gratification or psychological validation grows out of a desire to fill a void in their inner and outer lives. The basic assumption behind their thoughts and behaviour is that getting what they desire will make them happy. To fill their emptiness, they are always scheming and trying to figure out ways of having the upper hand or taking advantage of their position, influence, power or deviousness. For them, the art of seduction is simply a bait to attract the opposite sex, a means of temporarily filling their emotional or psychological emptiness. These kind of people go around comparing themselves to others and trying to make themselves feel good by the number of women or men that they can make interested in them - this gives them their self worth. A man or woman who seduces out of emptiness has often felt unduly controlled, rejected, manipulated, exploited and over looked by women or men in his or her life (especially those he or she has always wanted to impress upon) and so takes out his or her anger sexually. The rejected, controlled, manipulated, exploited and over looked seeks affirmation by having the opposite sex show sexual desire for him or her. Their idea of seduction is psychologically breaking down their target and bringing her or him down to the level of emptiness, hurt and humiliation theyve experienced and feel. They care nothing about the other person as long as they get what they want and as long as they enjoy themselves. People who seduce out of emptiness often hurt others and incidentally get hurt when life, the universe, the cosmos itself confronts them with the consequences of their behavior. After the initial “oh wow” attraction, the other person may discover that they were seduced by misrepresentation, deceit and manipulation and feels deceived and betrayed. The seducer or seductress may find him or herself stalked by an angry woman or man wholl pull out all the stops to ruin her seducer or his seductress. Over time, especially with more failed attempts than success in seducing the opposite sex, people who seduce out of emptiness become less desirable because their desire stems from abrasive neediness or inadequacy. Their attempts at seduction in the long-term only succeed in making them look like weak beggars. Unless you want to remain a pick-up artist for the rest of your life - please do yourself a favour, do a research on the so called master-pick-up artists or players, 99% of them are still single and the older ones are referred to as “dirty old men” or “off-layers” (bred chicken that have lost value) behind their backs. A majority are angry bitter men and women who’ve felt unduly controlled, rejected, manipulated, exploited and over looked by women or men and have found away to get back at the their ‘enemies”. These people are constantly trying to recruit followers and disciples and to inflict as much pain as possible. Unless this is what you want, at some point (I’ve seen it happen lots of time), you’ll get tired of all the “cheap lays” and long for a deeper and more meaningful relationship with a man or woman. But when you finally find someone you really like and one who might really like you back or even possible fall in love with you, you find that your heart has dried up and crumpled into worthless little pieces of deadness. You find that you lack genuine and illuminating sensation, feeling and love. You’ve become incapable of giving (and receiving) that which you have all along been seeking. You feel emptier and more worthless. Whereas seduction out of emptiness is consumptive, draining and damaging over time, seduction out of fullness allows for greater desire, appreciation, and zeal for another person without an accompanying need to possess and destroy the other. Whether or not, she or he sleeps with you or not is really besides the question - when you seduce out of fullness, you’re already making love with life, the universe, the very fabric of cosmos itself. About the Author: Christine Akiteng is a Sexual Confidence/Dating Coach with a rather UNIQUE and genuinely insightful outlook to what love is really about, what is there to learn about who we really are and what we can expect from our sexual relations. Her very powerful and practical “Fullness Approach” to dating and relationships and strong emphasis on “you don’t need to attract many men/Women, just the RIGHT ONE” has helped many single men and women develop greater capacity to attract the RIGHT man or woman and create fulfilling relationships… Christine’s website: http://www.torontosnumber1datedoctor.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Christine_Akiteng http://EzineArticles.com/?Why-People-Who-Use-Manipulative-Seduction-Have-A-Hard-Time-Attracting-Love&id=270625 venlafaxine bupropion lithium olanzapine ativan commercial drivers license ambien best prices for zolpidem online ambien low cost

Quick Weight Loss

Monday, March 24th, 2008

By Nathalie Fiset The desire for quick weight loss is common and is easy to achieve.Lose 1 pound overnight? Lose 2 pounds by next Tuesday? No problem todo it …. however you must realize that you are not losing fat butwater; your waist will not measure 1 inch less and your thighs willnot be leaner. To have a weight loss that is both noticeable and lasting you need tomake changes to both your diet and your lifestyle. A quick weightloss should be thought of in terms of one pound per week, not per day. It is not hard! Many people desiring that quick weight loss love junkfoods! You love KFC? Fine, you do not need to eliminate it to loseweight! There is a proven, simple method for quick weight loss - eat inmoderation. Do not over indulge. For example, when you go to KFC forthat 3-piece pack with chips and a carbonated soft drink, order the2-piece pack with chips and iced water and then eat the meal veryslowly and drink the cold water. You will be surprised that twopieces is in fact just as satisfying as three and you have reducedyour calorie intake by approximately 50%! When you get home have somemore iced water (it is an appetite suppressant). Still hungry? Have 3dry crackers …. eat 1 and then ask yourself “can I delay eating theother 2 for half an hour?”. This is changing your eating habitswithout eliminating any of the things in your diet that your bodycraves. By eating in moderation (that is, cutting back on thoseundesirable weight-producing foods) you will quickly see a weightloss and this alone will provide you with the incentive to reduceyour intake of those foods! Go to a private place (bedroom) and remove your clothes and grip inyour hands that spare tire you are carrying. Hold it. It is calledfat, as you know, and the only way you will get rid of that is tostop / reduce the quantity you are presently eating in order for yourbody to turn inwards and start ‘eating’ some of that stored fat youare holding. It is not hard to do but it does require you to made aconcerted effort to reduce that calorie intake. That’s the main thingyou need to do. No, I am not talking about “counting calories”, butsimply calorie intake reduction. If you can add exercise to your daily routine you will surely movetowards that quick weight loss solution much faster. No, you do notneed to join the gym or an exercise class, nor do you need to spendmoney on weight loss cd’s or any other program. Simply turn somemusic on and dance, at whatever pace suits you; jog on the spot for afew minutes, walk around the room a few times getting faster witheach revolution, then slow right down, just walking forward andbackwards … simple light exercise sustained over a period of 20minutes and repeated every day and your quick weight loss goal willbe achieved before you realize it. Drink lots of iced water as youexercise, which will make the exercising more pleasant as well asserving as an appetite suppressant. A quick weight loss of one pound per week does not sound worth makingthe effort for, but project yourself to 6 months ahead and you willhave lost 24 pounds - now does that sound like something worth aimingfor? Thousands have done it before you and you can do it too! One last point: during the process of losing weight, once a personalgoal has been reached (e.g. a loss of 5 pounds) give yourself atreat! Maybe a new pair of shoes or a night at the movies. You’veearned it! Dr Nathalie Fiset is a family doctor and a certified hypnotherapist. Family Tree Ideas That Can Help You Get Started

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

By Dominic Ferrara My mothers family is very large. She is the youngest of ten children and many of her siblings have large families. About every five years they have a family reunion. When I was in college I was taking a genealogy course for my major. One of the assignments was to make a family tree. My father also has a large extended family, however they do not get together as often and so I do not know as many of the first cousins. I decided that I would make a family tree for my mothers side of the family. I met with my mom to get as much basic information as possible. My mother grew up on a farm in a very small town. She was baptized and married in the same church. After she married my dad they bought a farm close to the same small town so each of her children were also baptized and married in the same church. Several of her siblings had also settled in this same area to raise their families. I decided to meet with the local priest to look through the church records to obtain information to make a family tree. The old record books were fascinating to go through. The old records were hand written in beautiful calligraphy. I found the marriage certificate of my grandparents as well as the baptismal certificates for their children as well as several of their marriage certificates. The priest was very helpful in making copies of things for me and he was quite interested in the project. He asked to see a copy of the family tree when I had it completed. I was also taking a sociology class at the same time and had to do a history of an area. I decided that I would combine the two projects and do a history of the area where my mother and I grew up. I also went on line and to the local historical society to gather additional information in order to make a family tree and gather facts about the first settlers in the area. I spoke to the professor in the genealogy class and asked if I could include the history of the area along with the family tree for extra credit. She thought that this would be a great idea. I compiled the first project. To make a family tree I found a basic outline to follow then added in facts about the area that the family grew up in. It was a fun project and I also included a map that showed where my mothers family lived in relation to my fathers family. I thought that in the future I could make a family tree of my dads side of the family as well. You Will Attract Whatever You Allow

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

By Lisa Stuart You will attract whatever you are willing to put up with. If you are willing to put up with someone who is flaky, you will attract someone that is a flake. If you are willing to put up with someone who will mistreat you or disrespect you, you will attract someone who will mistreat or disrespect you. If you are willing to put up with someone who takes advantage of you or takes you for granted, you will attract someone who will take advantage of you and/or take you for granted. Take a look at your relationships and see if there is a pattern of behavior that the other person exhibited that you did not particularly like that may have contributed to the demise of the relationship. The patterns of behavior displayed by your relationship partner are essentially a mirror for you, a clue to you about what you are willing to put up with. If you arent willing to put up with it, you wouldnt have attracted and thus experienced it. Hopefully you have learned from your past relationships where there were behaviors being exhibited that you didnt like and you made a conscious choice that you had been there and done that and wont do it again. Some of the time, this is enough to not have to experience it again. At least maybe not to the same degree. Or, it might be so subtle and look so different that you dont recognize it as being the same bottom line pattern of behavior. For example, if you dated someone whom you discovered you could not depend on to either be on time or show up at all and then would call with some excuse as to why the plans you made together had to be changed. You may have let them get away with it for a while, but eventually called things off as a result. Some time later, you might have experienced someone who was just late by a little every time you made plans. Because it wasnt to the same degree as previously experienced, you still might have let them get away with it. If it doesnt bother you fine, but if it does, dont put up with it from anyone that you are looking to spend your life with. When someone does something different than what they tell you they are going to do, it is ultimately a matter of respect. You deserve to be respected enough that they at least call and explain why they are not there on time or why your plans had to change and sincerely make an attempt to not let it happen again. If they dont, they dont respect you. In the end, this means that you are willing to put up with disrespect. And, you dont want to be with someone that disrespects you in any way, shape or form. It will only get worse instead of better. Find someone that respects you and that there isnt anything about them that you would want to change and stick with them. Bottom line, whatever you are willing to put up with, thats exactly what youre going to attract. If, however, you respect yourself enough to expect respect from someone you choose to be with, then you will attract someone who will treat you right. Someone who will love and accept and respect you exactly as you are because you have made it clear to yourself that you wont accept anything less. And when you respect yourself enough that you wont accept anything less, then you pave the way to attract the absolute love of your life. So, make it clear to yourself and others what you are and are not willing to put up with. And then you will be rewarded with exactly what you want to experience. Selecting the Perfect Wedding Dress

Monday, March 17th, 2008

By Lata Tokhi Choosing a wedding dress is one of the most exciting and enjoyable events for any bride to be. Every bride wants to look her absolute best on her special day, and the wedding dress is the most important aspect. Choosing a wedding dress is a personal thing for each woman. What works for one may not work for another. It’s important to choose a dress that is beautiful yet flattering for your figure. While you’ll want to try on a variety of different dresses to see how they look on you, here are some tips to help you find a flattering style: The most traditional style of wedding dress combines a fitted bodice with a full skirt. This style comes in many different variations. For example, the ballerina style skirt is normally made from frothy tulle and is as voluminous as it gets. If you don’t care for the ballerina skirt, there are more traditional skirt choices available. The A line dress features a tight, fitted bodice and a skirt that creates an A shape. This style is flattering for most every body type. The cut of the dress is also a consideration. One popular cut is the empire waist. This style is gathered right under the bust and falls from that point straight down with no additional definition at the waist. The empire waist is romantic and beautiful, and perfect for brides who want some concealing coverage for their stomach and hip areas. One sophisticated alternative to the full-skirted dress is the sleek look. The column dress, bias cut dress and sheath dress are all examples of slim-fitting choices. If you’re slender and confident enough to wear a body hugging style, the sleek look might be ideal for you. Modern brides who want the best of both worlds may want to go with the fishtail style. This is a tight fitting dress that flares out at the bottom. You may also hear the fishtail style called the mermaid style dress. The neckline of your wedding dress is another thing to consider. One popular choice is the sweetheart neckline. This type of neckline resembles a heart shape and is traditional and beautiful. Then there’s the bateau neckline, also known as the boat neckline. This sweeping neckline spans from shoulder to shoulder and accentuates the neck and collarbone area. Brides with well-toned arms may want to go with a strapless dress, tank style dress, or halter neckline. These styles accentuate arms and shoulders. Finally, you’ll need to decide whether you want long sleeves, short sleeves, or no sleeves. This can often be dictated by the season and weather. For a winter wedding, you’ll probably want to go with long sleeves. Short sleeves are perfect for a spring wedding, while summer brides can go with spaghetti straps or even strapless. Skin Care The Natural And Cheap Way

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

By Joshua Poyoh There are many skincare products on the market and it may overwhelm you to try so many of them. Some of them are very expensive and may burn a hole in your pocket if you need to try them for a period of time to be effective. It is essential to take care of your skin. Most children’s skin is beautiful and needs nothing more than the care of sunscreen when they go outside, but once they reach their teens, all sorts of problems begin to manifest. Acne is one of the problem. Even if you are fortunate enough to escape acne, you still need to take care of your skin. Most people know if their skin is oily or dry. Often skin that is a bit oily has dry patches in a T-section that includes the nose. If your skin seems dry and scaly here, you should apply moisturizer to it, but astringents to the oily part. The skin around the eyes is more tender and fine and should be treated with a product especially designed for it. There are some fun and inexpensive products you can make from the ingredients you can find right in your kitchen: If brown spots trouble you, use a vitamin C lotion under your make-up. This will help to neutralize free radicals that sabotage your skin after exposure to sunlight. Revlon has a sunscreen that contains vitamin C in it already. Oatmeal paste. Mix 2 tbsp oatmeal, 4 tbsp plain yoghurt, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp chopped parsley, and 1 tsp olive oil together. Massage into the skin, rinse off after about 4/5 minutes. This is great for oily or irritated skin. You can put a handful of oatmeal into the toe of your old pantyhose and use it to scrub your whole body, too. Mask to treat wrinkles. Beat 1 egg into 2 tbsp of milk. Wash your skin first then gently dab this concoction on. Rinse with warm water after 4/5 minutes. Add moisturizer. From about age 30 the skin’s natural ability to get rid of dead skin is impaired and this makes it look dull. Exfoliating your skin regularly, will keep it in good condition and help to create that translucent look. Look for products that contain alpha-, beta-, and poly-hydroxy acids. They will help slough off the dead skin, bringing fresh new cells to the surface. Copper peptide is one of the newest patented ingredients that works against sagging. It is an antioxidant thought to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Lastly, remember to remove make-up every night and cleanse with a gentle toner. If you do nothing to your skin will not be able to rejuvenate itself to a great degree, thus giving wrinkles and pimples to your face.
